What We Want in Life is Deeply Rooted in How Much Unconditional Love We Give and Receive
The first step in being able to give and receive unconditional love is to learn how to prioritize loving yourself. This may sound selfish and counterintuitive, but it’s quite simple really. If you aren’t able to take care of yourself, you will start to deteriorate both physically and mentally.
Identify areas in your life where you would like to improve yourself. Begin with simple things such as exercising or meditating. Why not satiate your curiosity for life in the process? Pursue a new life skill, such as learning a new language or sport. You can even begin by changing your diet into a healthy one.
The point is, you don’t have to do anything that’s too far-fetched and drastic. As the saying goes, “Charity begins at home”. In this case, treat your mind, body, and spirit as your “home” and do some housekeeping on a regular basis. You can begin to think about giving unconditional love to others once you get your own affairs in order.
Going hand-in-hand with loving yourself is being grateful for the things we have in life. Be it health, career opportunities, or simply being able to enjoy a nice and peaceful day with the people we love is a blessing in itself. When we learn to spread unconditional love to the aspects of life that we ALREADY possess, we are telling the universe that we are ready to receive blessings.
When we are able to give unconditional love to ourselves and to others, it is only a matter of time when abundance begins to manifest. You will be surprised at how plentiful opportunities actually are, even in dire circumstances. Remember that everything changes, and looking to change things for the better is essential for it to become true.
Have you ever stopped to think about just how much the people around us greatly affect us, for better or for worse? So why not be THAT PERSON who emanates happiness and joy, instead of misery and suffering? In doing so, we are allowing ourselves to become homing beacons for positive energy.
This isn’t to say that you should become blindly positive no matter what happens in front of you. However, you should be able to develop an intuition for situations and events that are rooted in authenticity and selflessness rather than falsehood and self-preservation.
At the beginning of your journey to unconditional love and abundance, keep in mind that this is a journey that will always be a work in progress. The great thing about this is, as we begin to practice the ways in which we show our unconditional love, the more that our lives begin to take on a newer and sharper focus.
Suddenly, things that we once thought of as being “important” such as prestige, material objects, and validation aren’t really as important as they seem.
